John McArthur has been captivated by art. He uses the human body as an inspiration for his own visual images and narrative. John responds by using lines, shapes, layers and textures in different forms such as drawing and painting. Calligraphy also has had a profound effect and is often represented as a common theme in his work.
John is an Australian artist, who has been a resident of Hong Kong since 1999. He was formally trained in visual arts, majoring in painting and drawing. John has held solo exhibitions and participated in group shows.
He is currently “resides” in the Spitting Gecko Studio in the Hong Kong Jockey Club Creative Art Centre (JCCAC) along with one hundred other HK artists.
John regularly draws with people who share a passion for art.
